Wiring a Single Pole Light Switch
Wiring a single pole light switch is an easy do it yourself project. Shut off the electric to the circuit that you are working on.
A single pole switch is used when one switch operates a light. The single pole switch will have 2 screw terminals and a ground screw.
The switch will be marked with on and off on the lever.
A switch is just a break in the hot, so you can connect the wires to either screw terminal.

How to wire a light switch
Visit http://askthehardwareguy.com for more household tips.
I cover the steps on how to wire a light switch.
A single pole switch is the most common wall switch. It is just a break in the hot wire going to a light, outlet or appliance from one location. This is an easy do it yourself project.
I show a couple types of connections you could find when changing a wall switch.
Always turn off the breaker or remove the fuse to the switch.
